The E4000NG replaced the E4000 in October 2018!

This probe is used to control the mechanical renewal of the air in the buildings. The RT2012 imposes an air-tightness of the buildings and therefore the renewal can only be mechanical and controlled. The E4000 probe ensures optimum ventilation control.

By regulating according to the human presence materialized by the expiration of CO2 (meeting rooms, offices) and air quality: volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as formaldehyde, benzene, (both carcinogens proved) some Toxic, irritating or odorous compounds), energy savings can be considerable.

Thanks to its temperature sensor, the E4000 probe can also control heating and air conditioning with an adaptive auto PID-type control loop. This control can be done at felt temperature.
The E4000 probe uses a solid state sensor (NDIR optional) that requires no maintenance. This technology provides competitive sensor costs and a life expectancy of more than 10 years without any maintenance.
The CO2 and VOC sensor modules are interchangeable without any recalibration, which allows you to change the sensors without tools in less than 30 seconds while maintaining the motherboard and its settings.
The sober and discreet design of the probe makes it easy to integrate into renovations as in new constructions.
The various interfaces and the large feeding range allow to interface this probe with most existing ecosystems.

The IAQ probe E4000 aboard the first positive energy houses.

The E4000 Indoor air quality sensor, predecessor of the E4000-NG, was selected and teamed the positive energy houses of the project Comepos *.

* The Comepos project for "optimized design and construction of positive energy house" was launched by the Ademe (Agency for Environment and Energy control) to test 25 innovative houses in different French regions. These individual dwellings, inhabited by families, must make it possible to better compare the energy consumption in real situation rather than by theoretical calculations.

Modular architecture for high-level flexibility

Modular communication cards allow you to interface with the most common industrial Bus or home automation systems such as the Modbus RS485 (ASCII or RTU), the Konnex. (KNX) LON, POE (IP) and EnOcean wireless systems.

| By combining two modular cards such as EnOcean and KNX, we obtain a complementary bridge function (10 sensors and 5 compatible actuators of all the equipment on the market) |

The E4000NG probe works with different communication protocols which are explained in detail below.

EnOcean technology is based on wireless technology and energy recovery for non-battery and maintenance-free sensor solutions (mini solar cells). More than 300 companies are members of the EnOcean Alliance. Interoperability with the various products of these manufacturers allows a quick installation and a reduced maintenance of the peripheral sensors (no batteries to change).

The probe E4000-NG can be equipped with an optional radio frequency link module to the EnOcean Standard (http://www.enocean-alliance.org) allowing to integrate up to 10 sensors and 5 actuators as for the gateway function:

  • Switch (On/OFF, up/down, position Adjustment) for lighting, roller shutter, blinds...
  • Presence and brightness sensor (ceiling mounted) for lighting management.
  • Opening or handle contact probe for doors or windows.
  • Ambient Thermostat and Settings (day, night, frost-free)
  • Remote control of setting and control (lighting, shutters...)
  • Actuator for lighting, roller shutter, blinds...

Telegrams received from any device in the EnOcean wireless format are interpreted by the E4000-NG probe, and data formatted in KNX or LON communication objects.

This is the basic version of the probe. A PLC interrogates the probe from up to 254 addresses. With the display tool, it is possible to customize the bus address of the probe and to choose between Modbus RTU and ASCII. The advantage of Modbus is that the length of the bus can be up to 1.2km. The controller retrieves the ventilation (or even heating and air conditioning) measurements and setpoints and transmits them to the actuators.

The probe, thanks to an analog daughter card, has two dry contacts (small speed and high ventilation speed) as well as a 0-10v control to drive a damper or continuous ventilation speed. The vast majority of VMC have a 0-10v input

By combining two modular cards such as EnOcean and KNX or LON, we obtain a complementary bridge function (10 sensors and 5 compatible actuators of most of the market equipment)

The KNX and LonWorks protocols are based on the principle of the bus with distributed intelligence (no master), explanation: The principle of the bus is that all participants of an ecosystem (buttons, actuators...) dialogue with each other using this bus. The programming of a KNX system is done with the ETS software or with LonMaker for a LonWorks system, so it is possible to modify the programming for example so that a button turns on another lighting circuit rather than the one set up Initially. The more sophisticated the functionality of a home automation installation, the more KNX technology will be adapted compared to a traditional solution. Indeed, the existence of a network of communication through the bus allows the realization of complex commands. The KNX and LonWorks communication protocols allow you to intelligently manage your heating and lighting to ensure energy savings.

Benefits

✓ Considerable time savings for the electrician to pull cable.

✓ Extension possibilities are possible without major work

Modbus Master

The KNX and LON databases of the E4000 probe handle the auxiliary probes. The EnOcean module in sensor mode transmits the information of the RS485 annexes probes
