Indoor Air Quality Sensor E4000-NG

     Quality probe of

     Indoor Air E4000-NG

Product description

The E4000-NG probe is designed to measure and control Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).

This probe is used to control the mechanical renewal of air in buildings by ensuring optimum control of ventilation.

Energy losses through air exchange in a conventional building are estimated at 30% of the cost of heating and cooling

The E4000-NG sensor allows to regulate the ventilation according to the human presence materialized by the CO2 expiration (meeting rooms, offices) and the air quality (Volatile Organic Compounds - VOC and Humidity) while ensuring energy savings.

Designed to improve indoor air quality
in
the buildings

NanoSense offers you two uses

Supervision
indoor environment

The E4000-NG probe can power a Cloud monitoring application using the LoRaWan protocol for example.

You will find the data measured and analyzed by the E4000-NG probe, in real time, wherever you are.

Configuration recommended

Air quality improvement & efficiency energy

Measuring is good, acting is better!

This configuration allows you not only to measure the air quality of your buildings in real time, but also to ACT to improve the Air Quality and optimize energy consumption.

Thanks to its numerous sensors, the E4000-NG probe can control ventilation with regard to indoor air quality.

Its temperature sensor can also control heating and air conditioning.

Configuration recommended

The E4000 probe in positive energy houses Comepos* Project

The E4000 indoor air quality sensor, predecessor of the E4000-NG, was selected and equipped in the positive energy houses of the project Comepos *.

*The Comepos project for "Optimized design and construction of positive energy houses" was launched by Ademe (Agency for the environment and energy management) to test 25 innovative houses in different French regions. These individual homes, inhabited by families, have permit to better compare energy consumption in real situations rather than by theoretical calculations.

A probe multi sensors

The E4000-NG was one of the first probes to integrate multiple pollutants (CO2, VOC, humidity and temperature).

NanoSense was the first IAQ sensor manufacturer to integrate VOC sensors. This allows for ventilation that ensures olfactory comfort, better productivity (cognitive functions) and better health in the long term.

The E4000-NG IAQ probe can be connected to P4000-NG probes to add the sensor that measures fine particles on 3 indicators (PM10, PM2.5 and PM1).

A probe multi-communication protocols

The E4000 probe, works with different communication protocols depending on the constraints of the buildings in which it is installed.

The main types of existing protocols:

Radio Protocol

Operated network

Wireline Protocol

A probe multi sensors compatible with all buildings.

A probe multi protocols.

An installation quick and simple.

Integration of the E4000-NG probe in a
home automation ecosystem

Take in external data on :

✓ Presence with a motion detector for example.

✓ Opening windows with a detector

Use this data as output to :

✓ Optimization and control of heating

✓ Optimization and control of ventilation

The E4000-NG probe allows to adapt the fresh air flow introduced according to the real occupation of the premises thanks to the CO2 rate (internally of the probe), and to a presence detector (externally in a SMART ecosystem) representative of the number of people present in the room according to the efficiency of the ventilation. It also allows to control the heating by taking into account the opening of the windows.

Benefits:

Energy efficiency and optimal indoor air quality: the modulation of the fresh air flow is a considerable source of energy because the heating and air conditioning represent up to 70% of total energy consumption in France.

The communication protocols

LoRa technology allows to send a small amount of information to a receiver located at a distance between 5km (urban area) and 20km (rural area). The E4000-NG sensors can work with operated or private LoRaWAN networks.

This is the basic version of the probe. An automaton interrogates the probes. With the smartphone application, it is possible to customize the address of the sensor, its speed etc.. The advantage of ModBus is that the bus length can reach 1.2km. A PLC retrieves the measurements and the ventilation (and even heating and air conditioning) settings and retransmits them to the actuators.

Several hundred manufacturers are members of the EnOcean Alliance. This radio protocol guarantees interoperability between the various products of these manufacturers. The E4000-NG sensors continuously listen to the radio telegrams of presence and window opening sensors, allowing to switch off the ventilation, air conditioning or heating in case of opening and to adjust the control thresholds according to the occupation.

The sensor, thanks to a 0-10V command, can control an air damper, a Variable Flow Box (VFB) or the ventilation speed in continuous. Most CMVs have a 0-10V input.

The 0-10V can be associated with LoRa, EnOcean or ZigBee radio communication to supervise the IAQ.

The KNX protocol will be soon available

LonWorks are based on the principle of BUS with distributed intelligence: The principle of the bus is that all participants in an ecosystem (buttons, actuators ...) dialogue with each other using this bus. The LonWorks protocol allows you to intelligently manage your heating and lighting to ensure energy savings.

E4000-NG + P4000-NG
a rich and complete combination

The ability to combine the E4000 NG and P4000 NG probe, via the Modbus protocol, allows more environmental parameters to be measured, and to share a single communication option!

With this combination:

The probes measure : Fine particles, VOC, CO2, Humidity and Temperature.

Communication protocols: EnOcean, Modbus, LoRa, KNX and LON.

But also: 0-10V, dry contacts.

  Why couple these probes?

To have a complete vision on indoor air quality.

Air pollutants are invisible and diffuse, NanoSense helps you to be aware of the quality of the air we are exposed to every day.

Fine particles are among the main pollutants to be monitored. These airborne dusts have been classified as carcinogenic by the WHO since 2012. They easily penetrate the respiratory tract and can then have negative consequences on health.
